Even though I had more than 2 months to cover my daughter's books, I only had it done yesterday. Typical!
Last year, I asked her to write her name and do some drawings which I scanned and made into a label. This year I took the easier route and started with a premade label, I only removed the original writing and added my own.
I covered her printed books with them.
* Digital labels: Kawaii Cute Fruits Mini Kit
For her copy books, I used the same frames but replaced the fruits by these cute dolls - a freebie from "A Print A Day".
* Dolls: 2 Panel Dolls from A Print A Day
And last week's PaperPlay challenge was "Back to School".
I made a layout about my son and his first teacher, his Montessori teacher. She wasn't wearing sunglasses, I only added them because I couldn't contact her to get permission to put her photo in the net.
* Lace Paper: Ki Memories
* Paper strips: Studio Calico and Cosmo Cricket
* Digital Frame: Paislee Press @ Oscraps.com
* Font: Century Gothic
* Other: Felt and owl embellishment

Challenges Ahead
It's probably the first time I used lots of purple & lilacs in a layout. I like purples and lilacs in clothes, but have a mental block about using them anywhere at home or in a scrapbook page.
To balance it out, I put the flowers against a greenish background.
The title looks a bit weird, I wanted to use this specific letters but had run out of "A"s, "D"s and had only one "E", so I used upside down "V"s for As and cut bits and pieces of other letters for the remaining.
* Die Cut 12x12 paper: Collage Press
* Letter Stickers: American Crafts
* Flowers: mostly Primas
* Other: decorative tape, brads and buttons

PaperPlay
I wish there was a way to finish a layout and have it automatically posted in my blog. I have 1 layout and 6 cards to take a photo of, resize and post in my blogs. Not counting this one. Which would have been posted yesterday if the internet wouldn't had frozen on me. Sorry for the ranting.
Sketch by Mandy @ PaperPlay, layout by yours truly.
Journaling includes a half sentence from the Bible ( Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing) - sounds better in Portuguese and the following:
"Yes, I do take photos which don’t feature my children -National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin - August 2009"
* Patterned Paper: Studio Calico
* Chipboard frame:
* Pin: Maya Road
* Rhinestones: Kaisercraft
* Other: ribbon and decorative tape
* Font: Susie's Hand

You smell of...
When he was younger, my boy had this slightly yucky habit of cleaning his dirty fingers on his hair. When he came back from playschool having had lunch there, he'd sometimes go for a nap and I would smell his hair and I could tell what he had eaten during the day.
At the time I meant to make a layout about it, but I never did. Until last week. I got a picture from a few months ago (when he was still using his soother). It isn't from the same time, but I don't mind.
There's some extra journaling behind the GROW card. And only now I noticed that the paper is upside down. Argghhh!

Last week's PaperPlay
Last week the theme, set by Jackie, was shoes.
While I like shoes well enough, I am not that mad about them but I have a little Imelda at home and decide to write about her passion. I didn't have a single shoe embelishment, but the yellow flower was saved from one of her earlier shoes.
It is an hybrid layout - the photo, the red background, title and journaling are all one single piece of paper.
* Paper: Early Bird - Cherry Pie, Cosmo Cricket
* Flowers: Prima
* Ribbon: Love Elsie from KI Memories
* Paper button: Chipboard Buttons, Jenni Bowlin
* Twine: Red Baker's Twine from Studio Calico
* Other: clothes label, button, brads, and yellow flower
* Photo frame: from Photoshop Elements
* Fonts: Times New Roman (title); VT Portable Remington (journaling)
